Flooring and Facade

The flooring that was salvageable was restored and re-used and the flooring that was beyond repair was replaced. Some of the flooring has floorboards of varying widths, which probably date from the 19th c., while the regular boards are from the last century.

The facade: all of the windows onto via S. Maria, the former imperial road, are framed in a light coloured limestone (18th-19th c). These were cleaned and sanitised. The type of plastering used on the facade was agreed with the Administration of Cultural Heritage as was the choice of colours for the doors, windows and shutters.
