Lake Garda, an easy reach from Rovereto is known internationally for its beauty, walks and the chance to enjoy a variety of sports. ‘Ora del Garda’, the characteristic wind that comes from the South in the early afternoons, makes the lake an ideal spot for windsurfing, kite-surfing and sailing. Pleasant places to visit on the lake include Arco, Riva and Torbole (lunch at the "La Terrazza"), Malcesine, Limone, Garda (lunch at the 'Graspo'), Bardolino (dinner at the ‘Giardino delle Esperidi’) and there are many scenic walks along the lake.

The mountains surrounding the lake are frequented by those who love climbing, mountain-biking and trekking while the rivers and nearby lakes are ideal for canyoning

Half an hour from Rovereto is the Folgaria Plateau, frequented by skiing and golfing enthusiasts, and the Brentonico Plateau, which has family friendly ski resorts (with slopes suitable for all skiing abilities) and beautiful walks to discover the flora of Mount Baldo.
Another destination, renowned for sports, are the Dolomites. A paradise for trekkers, who can explore its mountain peaks, breath-taking views and world renowned ski slopes such as the Fassa, Fiemme and Rendena valleys, the resorts of Canazei, San Martino di Castrozza, Passo Rolle, Cavalese , Moena, Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio

The cheeses, honeys, horse meat, the Castione chestnuts, the salted meat, the organic vegetables of the Gresta Valley, the oil of Garda, TrentoDOC (sparkling wine exclusively made in Trentino) : these are just some of the products that characterise the tastes this region has to offer.
The seasonal Christmas Market of Rovereto, in the lanes of the old town provides a wide range of local food, wine and handmade crafts. Other such markets can be found at Arco, Trento, Bolzano, Merano and Bressanone, all of which are worth a visit. Tourists and loyal customers often do make a round trip of all the markets.
